What is ReStore?

Habitat ReStore is a retail outlet where new and used building materials, appliances, furniture, and home décor items are sold. The majority of our products are donated to us through local businesses and individuals who understand the value in donating goods.

Our mission is to eliminate poverty housing in Bryan College Station, so all of our profits are used to build homes for families in need of decent, affordable housing.

Our History

We started ReStore in 1994 in a small building behind what is now our administration office. In 2005, we moved to our current location where we soon filled the 15,000 square feet of space with quality products. We are currently raising enough funds to build over 5 homes each year – this means that every purchase made at ReStore represents a life changed for the good.

Madeline ZwickeVolunteer & Procurement Coordinator
From a young age, volunteering has been important in Madeline’s life and she enjoys connecting with the community and doing purposeful work. She graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor’s of Science in Agricultural Leadership and Development.

“The Habitat mission is one that I hold very close to my heart. From connecting with volunteers and donors to participating in builds out at the construction site I have become very passionate about the work that I do. There’s nothing more rewarding then seeing the faces of all the families we have served when they receive the keys to their new home. I encourage everyone to check out what Habitat is all about, you will leave with more than you ever expected!”

The youngest of three children, Madeline grew up on a small farm outside of San Antonio and moved to B/CS in 2009 to attend Texas A&M. When she’s not building homes and hope in our community, she’s spending time with her two nieces and nephew. On weekends you can find her traveling to see family and friends, finding old stuff to look at (that only she would think is adorable) or enjoying a glass of wine!
